Ideal for Anyone looking for a seaside holiday. Slaughden End is just seconds from the beach. Sailors will love its proximity to the Aldeburgh Yacht and Aldeburgh Sailing Clubs. As for golfers, they have a choice of two fantastic heathland golf courses at Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. Slaughden End will suit both families with two or more children and two couples (who will enjoy the spaciousness of both a double bedroom with en-suite wash basin and loo and twin bedded room with access to the family bathroom. A great base for walking, bird watching and enjoying the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Eating & drinking Aldeburgh is well known for its excellent restaurants - The Lighthouse, Regetta and 152 all have excellent menus. The Bru at The Brudenell (almost opposite) has been recently refurbished and an excellent chef. There are several 'take aways' including internationally renowned fish and chip shop. Several shops sell top quality locally produce, fresh fish can be bought from the sheds on the beach (don't get fresher than that) and for the sweet toothes there is an excellent ice cream shop and independent wine shop - Aldeburgh caters for most needs!
Children: There is a lovely bunk room with lovely wall decoration and toys and games in the sitting room - a child friendly property. Excellent selection of DVDs. As for Aldeburgh, they will love the beach, the shops and the crabbing. Yachts and sailing boats near by and the opportunity for boat trips on the Alde. In Thorpeness, the Meare with its rowing, sailing boats and canoes is a firm favourite. Travel cot and table booster seat are supplied for your use at Slaughden End.
Music: Slaughden End has a good selection of CDs, whilst Aldeburgh is world famous for its festival and the summer proms. If you are visiting in August there is a great programme of music and entertainment at The Pump House as well as the Fraud Theatre Company at The Jubilee Hall. Aldeburgh Music have a year round programme of music at the Snape Maltings Concert Hall, just a 15-minute drive away.
Packing tips: Beachwear obviously, you might want to bring sailing gear and golf clubs and don't forget the binoculars - this is a great area for birdwatching.
Ground Floor - The front door opens into a hall with storage cupboard with beach chairs, and doors to the sitting and dining room
- The sitting room has two sofas, footstool, small antique chair and leather chest with loads of games and children's puzzles. A Victorian fire place has a coal effect gas fire. There are bookcases with books, CDs and DVDs, a flat screened TV, DVD and freeview box, stereo CD player
- The dining room has a dining table with seating for six, sideboard with drawers and a step down to the kitchen
- The kitchen is fully fitted and extremely well equipped. A corner sink with drainer, washing machine with tumble dryer, and dishwasher. There is an electric oven, gas hob, toaster, large fridge freezer, microwave, loads of china and glasses etc
- A stable door leads to the ground floor cloakroom with wash basin, w.c. and heated towel rail and to a lobby with hooks for outdoor coats, sailing gear and boots beyond which is the back door
- There is a straight staircase from the dining room leading to the landing

First Floor - A master bedroom with king side bed, bedside chests and lamps, chest of drawers with mirror, Victorian fireplace, and built in hanging cupboard with drawers below.
- A door from the master bedroom leads to an en-suite loo and washbasin with heated towel rail and storage
- The family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, wash basin, w.c. and heated towel rail
- Bedroom 2 is great for children. Full sized bunk beds with hooks and storage boxes. There is a baby alarm
- Two steps down take you to the twin bedroom with two full sized single beds, a bedside chest with lamp, fitted cupboards with drawers and hanging space.

Garden - There is a walled and gated terraced garden to the front of Slaughden End with garden furniture, pot plants, trellising and climbing roses. There is space for bike storage

Services - There is parking for one car on the private road to the side of Slaughden End
- Central heating, bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring own beach towels
- In consideration for other guests please do not smoke inside the property
- There is no wi fi at the cottage, but for the price of a cup of coffee you can use the wi fi at The Brudenell Hotel, almost opposite
