Long Melford 5 miles (8.5km), Bury St Edmunds 12 miles (19km), Cambridge 39 miles (63km), Aldeburgh and the Suffolk coast around 40 miles
9 Gravel Hill has recently been reburbished to provide excellent self catering accommodation and is surpisingly spacious for 3 people, with a large kitchen, comfortable sitting room and pretty garden. Nayland is a very pretty town on the banks of a particularly beautiful stretch of the river Stour in Dedham Vale.
Nayland makes a wonderful centre from which to explore surrounding historic towns including Lavenham, Long Melford and Bury St Edmunds and of course no visit to Suffolk would be complete without a visit to Suffolk's beautiful heritage coast at Aldeburgh, Southwold and Orford.
There are a number of excellent gastro pubs locally, notably The Angel and The Crown both at Stoke by Nayland, The Crown at Bildeston and of course The White Hart and the Angel in Nayland itself.
