Swimmers and wind surfers share the beach with traditional clinker built fishing boats – fresh fish from the beach daily!
The Alde estuary with its sailing and yacht clubs (a footpath leads from the cottage along the riverbank) makes this a favourite holiday location for sailors. As for birdwatchers, winter is the best time to view the black-tailed godwit and avocet or stroll across The Haven with its mosaic of shingle, dune grassland and fen and watch the marsh harrier swooping for its prey.
